How often did the group meet during 2009/10?

The group met at SOAS (the School of Oriental and African Studies), in Russell Square, London in April – minutes are here

What topics were covered?

The session focused mainly on a very creative and rich input from Pat Frances looking at ways to help students ‘unblock’ their writing.  Pat took us through a range of ‘out-of-the-box’ strategies that could be adapted for work with students who struggle to make a start and get words down on the page.

We spoke about the sorts of topics / themes the group were interested to pursue in the future.  Some of the suggestions included Assessment issues (especially ADHD, Dyspraxia and Aspergers) and the use of online support and assistive technology.

We also had an input from Pauline Sumner, summarising the latest information regarding Student Finance England and ILP’s.

Dates of future meetings

The group are hoping to meet approximately 3 times a year.
