Wednesday 18th July, 2.00pm – 4.30pm (1.30 start for tea, coffee and networking)

Carrington Building (room TBC), Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading

ADSHE Thames Valley Group will be holding their next meeting on Wednesday 18th July at the University of Reading. This will be a half day meeting and any member across the Southern Region, and indeed any other region, is welcome to join us.

The agenda for the afternoon will include three speakers who will cover a number of different topics. A clinical educator who is an IAPT trainer and researcher at the Charlie Waller Institute will be presenting on how depression and anxiety inhibits learning and engagement in students and what signs and triggers we can look for in our students. Ginny Stacey will be doing a session on bio-feedback to increase brain power and the way in which she uses these techniques and, finally, Kate Saunders CEO of the British Dyslexia Association will be joining us to talk about current initiatives and to facilitate a Q&A session.

It is going to be a full agenda but we would still like members to bring resources, ideas and thoughts to share for the round table session at the end.

If any member would like to attend then please go to the Doodle poll I have set up – link below – and add your name and, if you will need parking or have questions or comments, then please add these in the comments section in the poll.

http://www.doodle.com/3n36hifkrzizge9z

I am away from the end of next week to the end of June but will be accessing email occasionally so if you have any queries, please do email me.

Best wishes

Sue Lawrence, Specialist 1:1 Tutor (Dip RSA)
Chairman – ADSHE Thames Valley Regional Group

Gateway Building, Hope Park
Liverpool Hope University

Friday 29th June 2012

The North West Group will hold their next regional meeting on Friday 29th June 2012, at the Liverpool Hope University. We welcome members from across the North West of England as well as those from North Wales. The group aims to meet twice a year for a full day’s meeting. Numbers are limited, ADSHE members will be given first priority for spaces. Membership of the group is not dependent on being able to attend meetings and we aim to circulate details of our meetings and discussions to all members in the North West and North Wales.

The morning session will include the group meeting followed by an opportunity to network. In the afternoon there will be a demonstration and workshop facilitated by David Kidd from Matchware demonstrating Mindview software.

We encourage attendees to bring along resources they have found of particular use/importance and time will also be available for networking and informal discussions. Please book your place, numbers are limited.

To book a place please contact Carol Thomas carolatchester@gmail.com
