3. Affiliate Membership

You are eligible to be an Affiliate member if you:

have a professional involvement in Specific Learning Difficulties in Higher Education including SpLD advisers, Assistive Technology Trainers, Specialist Mentors (Mental Health and/or Autistic Spectrum), Study Needs Assessors, Specialist Librarians, Disability Officers

agree to abide by the Code of Ethics and support the ADSHE 7 Principles of 1:1 specialist support.

Affiliate membership DOES NOT confer eligibility to cite ADSHE as your professional body on the DSA QAG Non Medical Helper Provider – Registration.

Affiliate membership entitles you:

Attendance rights at meetings (no voting rights).

Membership of ADSHE Jiscmail.

Membership of an ADSHE Regional Group.

Discounted fees on annual ADSHE Conference and CPD Days.


How to apply:

Complete the membership form.

Provide one professional reference [template]  – the reference should include the name and contact details of the person writing the testimonial, how long you have been known to the referee, in what capacity and a statement endorsing your application.

Pay the fee of £50 on receipt of an invoice.

If you are an Assistive Technology Trainer or qualified Specialist Mentor (Mental Health and/or Autistic Spectrum) you may request to have your contact details listed on the upcoming ADSHE Professional Register and Map (so that you can be found for freelance work). In order to have your contact details listed it is mandatory that your work is covered by Professional Liability Insurance and you confirm that you will ensure that it is current for the duration of your membership.  If you wish to be listed evidence of Qualifications and Professional Liability insurance should be sent to admin@adshe.org.uk.

Payment terms – Payments are per annum.  Payments must be made before your current membership expires. Payment is through BACS (bank transfer) only.
