Dyspraxia and Vision

members have recommended the following

Irlen Syndrome, which is very common in people with dyspraxia.  Irlen tinted lenses should help.  It is questionable whether funding is available through the DSA for a full Irlen assessment but tinted lenses are usually funded if included as a recommendation in the report. http://www.irlenuk.com/

It is common for people with all SpLDs to have oversensitivity to certain sensory stimuli, often visual, but also others e.g. noise, touch.  You can have a student assessed by a specialist teacher who has done the Institute of Optometry course or similar, and have a coloured overlay prescribed, which is much much cheaper.  See www.ioo.org.uk
