ADSHE Level 5 course: Teaching Students with Specific Learning Differences in FE & HE
Enrollment is closing on 30th September for our Level 5 course, running from January 2021 until December 2021. In collaboration with the Open College Network London (OCN), the course is designed to enable you to become Specialist Study Skills and Support Tutors and teach post-16’s with Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs).
The course will look at how adults learn and potential barriers to learning that SpLD students can face. Using the ADSHE 7-Principles® as a guide, strategies to support adult learning will be examined and you will learn how to help students develop their own personal strategies. Additionally, the course will provide you with a background knowledge of the legislation impacting on students and any additional needs they might have. You will gain an understanding of different SpLDs and how they might impact on students studying in post-16 educational institutions.
The course has gained BDA ATS FE/HE accredited status, allowing progression to a Level 7 course, should participants wish to become an assessor in the future.
One of our recent graduates has commented: “The course has been a great experience and it’s been a pleasure to learn from such knowledgeable and supportive tutors. I am looking forward to working alongside you!”
