Keynotes:
Paddy Turner: Inclusive assessment makes me want to weep
Paddy is a Director of NADP since 2005 including 7yrs as Chair (2011-18) and enjoyed sharing a platform and joining voices with ADSHE in shaping developments in the sector. This presentation introduces a recent Office for Students (OfS) report, which he feels lends credence and comfort to those who argue that inclusive practices, and support for neurodiverse students, equates to a lowering of standards.
Amanda Abbott-Jones: Anxiety and coping skills for students with dyslexia
Amanda has a successful track record in supporting dyslexic Higher Education students with their cognitive and emotional learning needs, and has become a Doctor of Education with research interests in dyslexia, its association with anxiety and social / emotional difficulties. Her talk focuses on the reasons and inspiration for undertaking research into dyslexia and its relationship with anxiety; how the research was conducted; and what this involved.
Plus 9 exciting workshops to choose from!
